[Comp-neuro] RA position in Computational Tools for Optogenetics

Research Associate in Computational Neuroscience

Salary Range: £32,750– £34,500 per annum

Full Time, fixed-term appointment for 12 months

 

Applications are invited for a BBSRC funded Research Associate post on the development of multiscale computational tools for optogenetics. You will be based in the Centre for Bio-Inspired Technology (CBIT) http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/bioinspiredtechnology, Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College London. You will work jointly with Dr Konstantin Nikolic (PI, CBIT & Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering) and Dr Simon Schultz (Department of Bioengineering) on the mathematical and computational modeling of optogenetic (light-activated) ion channels (e.g. channelrhodopsin, halorhodopsin, ArchT, etc) and neurons expressing them.
