[Comp-neuro] Postdoc position available (Neuronal Computation in the Basal Ganglia)

A 2 years (1+1) postdoctoral position is available starting July 2013 in the group of Dr. David Robbe at the Institut de Neurobiologie de la Mediterrannée (INMED; www.inmed.univ-mrs.fr) in Marseille, France.

The Robbe Lab studies how neural assemblies in the basal ganglia and related structures contribute to the learning and execution of complex motor sequences. For this, we develop new behavioral tasks, employ large-scale electrophysiological recordings in behaving rodents, perform pharmacological and optogenetic manipulations and create analysis programs to extract computational principles from our behavioral/neuronal data.

The ideal candidate has strong quantitative and
/or experimental skills. Candidates with significant research experience in computational/theoretical neuroscience, in vivo neurophysiology or optogenetics are strongly encouraged to apply.

Per requirement of the funding organism (Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), the candidate should have been awarded its PhD recently (less than 3 years ago), be younger than 35 years old and of foreign nationality (i.e., french citizen can not apply).

Interested applicants should send a short statement of research interests and a curriculum vitae to: david.robbe@inserm.fr

INMED is composed of several internationally renowned groups working on the development, function and pathology of neuronal circuits. The scientific excellence of INMED and its outstanding location at the entrance of the National Park des Calanques provide a rich and stimulating working/living environment.
