[Comp-neuro] Training in Neuroinformatics 2014 - Call for Letters of Intent

[sorry if you receive this through multiple channels]

Training in Neuroinformatics – Call for Letters of Intent

The International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (www.incf.org)
is committed to supporting training in neuroinformatics. INCF now invites
applications to run short courses lasting between two and seven days
on any aspects of neuroinformatics at a level suitable for PhD students
and beyond. The courses should be held in English and open to any
researcher interested in neuroinformatics. International participation
of faculty and students should be encouraged. The INCF offers financial
support to successful proposals, which could cover "hands on training"
experiences, venue, travel and accommodation costs for a small number
of speakers and participants. Financial support from other sources is
encouraged. One condition of funding is that the course material be made
available publically, through INCF. Courses to be funded in this Call
are envisaged to take place in 2014. Our aim is to support the development
of new courses or the re-design of existing courses to incorporate/extend
neuroinformatics coverage. Funding is available for one year only.

The Letter of Intent must include information about

1. Topic
2. Organisers
3. Target audience
4. Justification for why INCF should fund this course
5. Course description (up to 250 words)
6. Dissemination plan
7. Speakers – a preliminary list would be helpful
8. Course duration
9. Proposed dates and location
10. Estimated number of participants
11. Draft budget including the amount to be sought from the INCF

The closing date for Letters of Intent is

31st March 2013.

Letters should be sent in PDF format per email to

training-proposals@incf.org.

The authors of the most promising Letters of Intent will be invited by
25th April 2013 to submit a full proposal, with a deadline of 1st August 2013.

Informal enquiries should be directed to Mathew Abrams
(mathew.abrams@incf.org) on behalf of the INCF Training Committee.
