The laboratory of Dr. Fidel Santamaria at The University of Texas at San Antonio is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to participate in a NSF funded US-Germany project aimed at understanding how chloride dynamics affects cerebellar computation. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Thomas Kuner in Heidelberg and Dr. Peter Jedlicka in Frankfurt. The postdoc will be involved in doing electrophysiology experiments on neurons expressing diverse fluorescent molecules that report chloride concentrations, two-photon imaging, and computer simulations. Visits to Germany for different periods of time to learn techniques and exchange information are part of the activities of this grant. Experience in electrophysiology is essential. The initial appointment will be for one year, starting in November 2012, with a possibility of renewal up to three years contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. Please submit a CV and statement of research interests to Dr. Fidel Santamaria (fidel.santamaria@utsa.edu), The University of Texas at San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas 78249.
