[Comp-neuro] Job posts for working with SpiNNaker on the Human Brain Project

We are pleased to announce that we have up to four Research posts with the SpiNNaker group.

In summary, we are seeking specialists in the following areas:

(*) Analysis of neurally-inspired machine architectures and chips.

(*) Designing, implementing and characterising support for models required by computational neuroscientists.

(*)  Designing, implementing and characterising support for The Neural Engineering Framework.

(*) Analysis of large-scale networks by which regions of these simple neurons can interact during processing.

(*) Designing and implementing the symbol level operations that allow these entities to be combined during reasoning and learning operations.

The skill sets we are seeking will lie in the following areas, depending on the role applied for:

(*) Extensive experience of ASIC processor design. It is essential that candidates for this role have extensive experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.

(*) Extensive experience of Neural Simulation. It is essential that candidates for this role have experience with one or more of the following technologies: SpiNNaker, PyNN, NENGO or the Neural Engineering Framework.

(*) Software Development. It is essential that candidates for this role have extensive C, Python and ARM assembler programming experience.
The salary will be in the range: £24,766 - £45,941 per annum according to relevant experience.
