[Comp-neuro] SFN interviews for post-doc in Computational Neuroscience at Brown University

Interviews for a Computational Neuroscience post-doctoral position in the Dept. of Neuroscience at Brown University will be held at the annual SFN meeting. Interested candidate should contact Stephanie_Jones@brown.edu

Postdoctoral Position in Computational Neuroscience at Brown University

A postdoctoral position in computational neuroscience is available in the Department of Neuroscience at Brown University to work jointly in the labs of Drs. Stephanie Jones and Christopher Moore. We seek to train a postdoctoral researcher in biophysically principled computational neuroscience methods. The trainee will work side by side with experimentalists to receive interdisciplinary systems level neuroscience training in the integration of theory and experimentation. Model development and analysis will be under the mentorship of Dr. Jones and integration with experimental data under the direction of Dr. Moore. Fundamental to the research will be the development and analysis of neural models of basal ganglia-thalamic-cortical circuits to study the mechanistic origin and importance of brain oscillations. The opportunity for this training comes from an NSF sponsored Collaborative Efforts in Computational Neuroscience grant. Qualified candidates should have a strong mathematics background with experience in dynamical systems methods for simulating neural circuits. The application deadline for the position is ongoing and candidates will be considered until the position is filled. Interested candidates should send a CV, statement of research interests, and three letters of recommendation sent to Stephanie_Jones@Brown.edu
