Research Associate in Imaging Analysis and Processing
The Marin lab is a neuroscience research unit located in the Institute of Neuroscience in Alicante, Spain. The lab comprises a diverse group of scientists with different backgrounds whose main focus is understanding the mechanisms underlying cortical development and brain circuit assembly (http://in.umh.es/marinlab/).
We are looking for a highly-motivated individual with a strong background (bachelor or masters degree) in engineering (computer, electrical, etc) or applied mathematics, and experience in image analysis processing. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with neurobiologists to develop software and informatics tools to extract a range of neuronal and cellular parameters from mouse brain preparations, with the general goal of reconstructing 3D mouse brains from histological preparations. The candidate will also be involved in setting up automated image acquisition system using cutting-edge confocal and light microscopy platforms.
Requirements:
Strong experience in Matlab programming is required Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
Capable of working in a fast-paced, multinational environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Useful skills:
Previous experience in image processing and microscopy
Previous experience in neurobiology
