MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit Cambridge, UK
The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBSU) is an internationally
renowned research institute with state-of-the-art cognitive neuroscience
facilities.
Applicants are invited for a Research Assistant to support a longitudinal
study to investigate how attention mediates learning in infants aged 1-2
years old. Techniques used will include naturalistic eye tracking and
recording of endocrine and electrophysiological measures. The post holder
will also be involved in data analysis, including image and signal
processing, and preparation of manuscripts for publication.
The post is envisaged to start part-time from April 2013, moving to
full-time in October 2013, and to last through to December 2015; however,
start and end dates are flexible for suitable candidates. This is an
excellent opportunity to develop practical experience and a publications
record prior to pursuing an independent research career.
Excellent communication skills are required, particularly a rapport with
infants and young children. Experience of programming (preferably Matlab)
or high-level mathematics is desirable.

The starting salary will be in the range of £20,074 - £23,056 per annum,
depending upon qualifications and experience.
