[Comp-neuro] PhD-Position in Neuroscience in Göttingen/Germany

PhD-Position in Neuroscience

For a motivated young researcher, we offer a PhD position (TV-L E13 ½) in the research group "Sensory Processing in the Retina" of Tim Gollisch (http://www.retina.uni-goettingen.de) at the Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Göttingen. The vivid, local Neuroscience community engages interactions and includes the Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (http://www.uni-goettingen.de/en/sh/56640.html).

The current project focuses on the physiological function of dendritic integration in retinal ganglion cells. The study will include patch clamp recordings and fluorescence microscopy in the isolated retina. Later analysis and interpretation will be based on physiologically realistic neuron models. Background in above mentioned techniques or other areas of neurobiology would be considered as a plus. However, willingness to learn is required.

The Faculty of Medicine of the Georg-August-University Göttingen is an equal opportunity employer.

Please send your application via email including a CV, a short statement of motivation and contact information of a recommendation reference to:
