[Comp-neuro] summer school/Donders Institute/Aug 25-30

This year the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour is organizing the

Summer school on “Brain Networks and Neuronal Communication”

Sunday 25 August - Friday 30 August 2013

One week of intensive study on brain networks spanning communication between single neurons to large scale network interactions. National and international faculty, with expertise in theoretical neuroscience, animal electrophysiology and human brain imaging will train students on how to build bridges between the various levels of brain functioning. This school will promote vertical integration, promoting new ways of conceptualizing neuronal communication and brain connectivity. Faculty lectures, journal clubs, hands-on computer exercises and demos will guide the daily program. The evenings will be reserved for the students developing novel research proposals and social activities.

The school is directed at national and international graduate students (advanced MSc & PhD students; total number of 30) who wish to develop an integrated perspective on brain networks and neuronal communication; an important component of neuroscience. Students are requested to prepare for the school by reading a number of relevant [bw] research papers. A reading list will be send prior to the meeting. The school takes place at Conference Center "De Poort" in Groesbeek (NL), which is nicely situated in the woods around Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Topics include
Experimental techniques, advances data analysis, computational modeling and computer labs. The program can be found here.
