[Comp-neuro] Multiple permanent faculty positions

Salary: £31,331 to £53,233 pa- Grade 7/8/9 depending on experience. Professorial appointments will be made on the Senior Manager Scale.

 

The School of Psychology at Plymouth University is looking to recruit 3 permanent members of academic staff.

 

Psychology at Plymouth is a large and successful discipline group, comprising 40 full-time academic staff. The School hosts the Centre for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, which forms part of the multidisciplinary Cognition Research Institute. The centre has active research groups in Cognitive Neuroscience, Thinking and Reasoning, Memory, Vision, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Health and Well Being and Behaviour Change.  These groups are housed in recently-built dedicated research facilities, and are supported by a team of technicians and scientific officers. The School’s research profile places it in the top third of psychology departments in the UK, with 85% of its research activity rated at international standard. Our programmes include a BSc (Hons) Psychology, MPsych Advanced Psychology (pathways in cognitive neuroscience, clinical, and behaviour change) and MSc Psychological Research Methods.

 

Candidates with expertise in any area Psychology are encouraged to apply. You will have a track record of research consistent with a significant contribution to the REF and to the future profile of research in Psychology. You will be expected to strengthen an existing research group or build a research programme that complements existing strengths. At least one of the appointments will be made in the area of Social Psychology. Your enthusiasm for your subject will extend to providing excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, informed by rigorous scholarship and your own research experience. You will benefit from a positive and collegiate working environment that values and promotes excellence in all academic activities.

 

For the full Professor post you will have outstanding research track record with a publication and research funding profile that demonstrates an internationally excellent standing in your field. You will a research-leader, demonstrating both personal research excellence, and the potential to drive forward the research agenda of the School.
