JCIB 2012 – Terceras Jornadas Chilenas de Ingeniería Biomédica (3rd Chilean Meeting on Biomedical Engineering)

We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to the Terceras Jornadas Chilenas de Ingeniería Biomédica 2012. The JCIB 2012 will be held in Viña del Mar, Chile, September 26th to September 28th, 2012. The event is organized by the Universidad de Valparaiso and the Sociedad Chilena de Ingeniería Biomédica (SOCHIB) and it is supported by the CORAL (Consejo Regional de Ingeniería Biomedica Para América Latina). The JCIB 2012 will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss new ideas, problems and experiences in the field of biomedical engineering and healthcare technologies. The conference program will consist in invited plenary lectures and oral presentations of the accepted contributions. We expect original works in the wide spectrum of Biomedical Engineering from academic research to clinical, industrial and business applications with significant impact and lessons learned from application development. All abstracts will be peer reviewed and accepted works will appear in the Conference Proceedings.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
- Biomedical Signal Processing.
- Biomedical Image and Image Processing.
- Bioinstrumentation: Sensors, Micro, Nano and Wearable Technologies.
- Bioinformatics and Computational Biology; Systems Biology, Modeling Methodologies.
- Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems Engineering.
- Neural Engineering, Neuromuscular Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering.
- Molecular and Cellular Biomechanics, Tissue Engineering, Biomaterials.
- Bio-Robotics, Surgical Planning and Orthopedics Biomechanics.
- Therapeutics and Diagnostic Systems, Devices and Technologies, Clinical Engineering.
- Healthcare Information Systems, Telemedicine.
- Technology Commercialization, Education, Industry and Society.
All abstracts will be double-blind reviewed by experts of the Program Committee. Abstracts may be accepted for presentation as talks during the Symposium.
Important Dates:
Deadline for paper submission: June 15th, 2012
Notification of paper acceptance: July 15th, 2012
Camera ready papers and author registration: August 15th, 2012
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts must be written in English or Spanish. The versions submitted for review must be uploaded in .PDF format. Please refer to the JCIB-2012 website for the author guidelines. Abstracts should be formatted to include the following: Title (up to 100 characters); introduction, methods, results and conclusions (4000 character limit including spaces); up to 6 figures or tables; a maximum of 10 references. Each accepted paper must be presented in the meeting, and the presenter must be registered in the conference. Authors who submit papers are implicitly assumed to agree with this requirement. Failure to complete registration will imply the removal of the paper from the program.
