Applications are sought for a 3 year, fully-funded PhD position (UK &
EU nationals) in the lab of Dr Christoph Weidemann at Swansea
University, UK investigating context effects in cognition.
The successful student will investigate how environmental statistics
affect behaviour in "perceptual" and "recognition memory" tasks using
computational modelling and rigorous empirical tests utilising
dependent variables from choice responses (such as accuracy and
response times) as well as brain activity (measured with EEG).
Candidates should have substantial computer programming experience and
quantitative skills. Prior experience in collecting / working with EEG
data is desirable, but not essential.
